SolGen Contracting delivers civil works, building construction, and water infrastructure across Afghanistan — from provincial road rehabilitation to remote community facilities.
We are a mid-sized contracting firm that has operated in Afghanistan since 2011, delivering turnkey projects for government ministries, international development partners, and humanitarian agencies.
SolGen Contracting was founded by a team of civil engineers who recognised that Afghanistan's infrastructure needs required more than imported solutions — they needed contractors who understood local materials, terrain, logistics, and communities.
Our core disciplines are road construction, building works, and water and sanitation systems. We self-perform most civil works while managing specialist subcontractors for electrical, mechanical, and finishing scopes.
We maintain permanent operational bases in Kandahar and Kabul, with satellite teams that mobilise to project sites across the southern and eastern provinces. Our supply chain draws from Australian engineering standards while adapting to local conditions.
Every project we undertake includes a community engagement component — local labour training, materials sourcing from regional suppliers, and handover protocols that ensure long-term operational sustainability.
We are not a trading company. We are builders — we pour concrete, erect steel, and trench pipelines. When a project requires specialist equipment or materials, we procure those systems the same way we procure cement and rebar: through competitive tender from certified international manufacturers.
100% self-performed civil & structural worksEnd-to-end delivery from site survey and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Provincial road rehabilitation, retaining walls, drainage systems, culverts, and hardstand construction in mountainous terrain.
Community health clinics, schools, market facilities, and administrative buildings — designed for seismic and thermal performance.
Borehole drilling, pump stations, storage tanks, distribution networks, and wastewater systems for rural communities.
Site clearance, bulk excavation, compaction, slope stabilisation, and foundation preparation across all terrain types.
Representative works from our project history across Afghanistan.
Contributed to the rehabilitation of 45km of provincial roadway as part of a multi-contractor programme. Scope included sub-base stabilisation, asphalt overlay, reinforced concrete retaining walls, and stormwater drainage. Funded by the Asian Development Bank.
